Amakah is back and ready to make waves with her brand new single, “Deliver Me.” This track is her first release of the year, and it’s packed with emotion, storytelling, and a strong sense of self.
“Deliver Me” is all about tolerance, discovery, self-worth, and most importantly, control. In Amakah’s words, “It tells a fine story of tolerance, discovery, self-worth, and most importantly, control. It shows how I know what’s going on but don’t care, and I decide to be in charge and dictate how the relationship will go.”
Creating “Deliver Me” was a unique journey for Amakah. She shares, “I wasn’t prepared to write this song. I was scrolling through YouTube and discovered a beat that had potential, downloaded it, and sat on my bed. For the first time, I didn’t write a track fully at once. I actually took my time with ‘Deliver Me.’ I would write, I would edit until it felt perfect. Then I didn’t want the YouTube beat anymore because the writing now felt bigger than the beat, so I reached out to Wademix, who’s amazing by the way, sent him my vocals, and he sent me what we now have. This particular creation was very different. It felt like I knew exactly the sound I was aiming for—something sexy and something that strikes at an instant.”
Reflecting on her path, Amakah talks about the ups and downs of being an artist. “I really feel as an artist, there are drowning times, pick-up times, and development times. I visited all these times and didn’t feel like putting out music at the time, especially during my development phase. Development is always an everyday thing, but I realized that it was time to begin my journey. I have been on features, but this time I knew it was okay to share what I’ve been keeping in the bag. This is just the beginning, literally.”
She says, “I’ve made several songs—some I really love and some I just think people shouldn’t hear… Lol… but funny how my A&R’s may think otherwise. One thing is for sure, I’m giving the whole of myself to my audience this year, and yes, we will have one or two personal shows this year. Watch out for it.”
