Award-winning Ghanaian afro beats & hip-hop artist, songwriter and performer Bashir Annan, popularly known as Gambo is set to release his latest project, an EP titled 1MB (1 More Bullet). 1MB is an Afro hip-hop project featuring several rappers across the African continent and a special guest feature from the United States.
With this project, Gamo intends to fuse hip-hop culture with an African flavor, encouraging cross-cultural engagement by ensuring that the African culture and that of the African American connect since their ancestors originated from Africa. Gambo is well known for fostering positivity and promoting Ghanaian tourism, culture and African culture to the world. 1MB gives insights into the influence hip-hop has had on Gambo’s music, the impact the African American culture has on the world as a whole, and even the influences incorporated into his music while recording the project in the United States.
Featured on the 1MB EP is the gifted and legendary American rapper Jim Jones. Gambo quite superbly recruited Jim Jones services on the remix of his most successful song “Drip”. The original track featured award-winning Ghanaian rapper Edem, showcasing the lush luxury side of Ghana. Additionally, the versatile Ghanaian rapper and one-time Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (now Telecel Ghana Music Awards) Unsung Artiste of The Year, made a return to the East African nation of Tanzania where he tapped the services of award-winning Tanzanian rapper G Nako on the track titled “Loco”. Also featured on the highly anticipated EP are Ghanaian rappers Kofi Jamar and E.L. Kofi Jamar showcased his lyrical prowess on “Conversation”, while E.L. took the stage on “Enjoyment”.
1MB was produced by one of Ghana’s best hip-hop record producers Fortune Dane, who has supplied the project with heavy-hitting hip-hop soundtracks that fully convey the sonic message of the project. With over 650k followers across Instagram, X (Twitter), and TikTok, Gambo has a thriving young audience of avid music listeners ready and waiting to consume his new offering.
