Portable declared wanted

Popular street pop singer, Habeeb Olalomi Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has been declared wanted by the Ogun State Police Command for alleged assault on state officials.

According to a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, a warrant of arrest was issued by a Magistrate Court in Ogun State, citing multiple charges, including attempted murder, conspiracy, serious assault, going armed, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.

The police bulletin revealed that Portable and his associates allegedly attacked Ogun State town planning officials on February 5, 2025, during an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu-Ota. The affected officials—TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi of the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ota Zonal Office—were reportedly assaulted while carrying out their duties.

The statement detailed that the officials had encountered Portable’s father at Odogwu Bar and requested an approved building plan. However, upon learning that the singer was unavailable, Portable and nine others, allegedly armed with firearms and other dangerous weapons, launched a violent attack on the unarmed officials. The enforcement officers sustained injuries but managed to escape and reported the incident to the Ota Area Command.

This development follows earlier reports that some of Portable’s aides had been arrested and charged to court for assaulting state officials. The singer had previously pleaded for forgiveness from Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun after his men were taken into custody.

Authorities have now intensified efforts to apprehend Portable and bring him to justice, therefore, he has been declared wanted by the Ogun State Police Command.
