Seyi Shay, the gifted British-Nigerian singer and songwriter, is back with the second volume of her ‘FEELS LIKE HOME’ series.
She released ‘Feels Like Home Vol 1’ just two months ago, a delightful mix of four tracks that showcase her versatility and charm. She has been making waves in the afrobeats scene since her debut album ‘Seyi or Shay’ in 2015, followed by ‘Electric Package’ in 2018 and ‘Big Girl’ in 2021. These past gems are the building blocks of Seyi Shay’s remarkable musical journey.
Born in Tottenham, London, with Nigerian roots, Seyi Shay’s life was destined for music. Her mother’s heavenly voice in the church choir, her sister’s tunes for the BBC, and her brother’s beats in London’s clubs all inspired her passion. At just six years old, she joined her school choir and took her first step into the spotlight. Her talent took her around the world, performing with the London Community Gospel Choir in 13 cities in Japan.
This year, Seyi Shay returned with “‘FEELS LIKE HOME VOL 1” a joyful reunion with an old friend and a fresh taste of something new.
With just four tracks, her silky voice and delivery remind us why she’s a beloved figure in the afrobeats genre. She knows how to blend the sounds of the past with the beats of the future, and her music is living proof.
FEELS LIKE HOME VOL 2 is a fusion of Nigerian, South African, and UK influences,
“Yahweh” starts the EP, with the Amapiano production, Seyi Shay’s vocals shine through the beat as she shows off her range. “Something Sweet” interpolates For The Streets as she retains the versatility, “Soft Life” is an anthem, we all desire the soft life, closing the EP with “Lookin” as she revels in her awesomeness.
Speaking about the project and its creation, Seyi Shay shared “I wanted to experiment with new sounds. I have a lot of new ideas so I wanted to share and wet appetites. what better way than to put it all into a mixtape and gift it to my most loyal fans, the ones that appreciate quality over quantity”
